Get People On A Server
Hello, i have recently made a server, and i have a few people who like to come on all the time, but thats only about 3 people. i have had a few people come on quite a bit, but not alot stay. and i have done all of the suggested. i made a post on 4 major websites, including this one, i have a voting system in place, with a pretty good payout reward. you get $200 and 5 levels of xp every time you vote. witch is quite alot on the server. and it is a lag-free ddos protected server. so im not sure what to do. Any ideas?

That partially depends on what you prefer - said elements should be something that you would enjoy having, or else it would be pointless to set up.
Something like a well implemented Gods plugin, RPG/hero/classes plugins, randomly spread out buildings that members can find containing traps and rewards,a boss fight set up by admins, or things like the "spells" plugin thought through might be of some use.
Just putting some of those things in to have them isn't enough in my view - it goes a long way to flesh out the features of them and maximise their potential and polish in regards to how they blend in with the rest of the server. Even a simple plugin used a lot like Factions could be shown as a "new" concept by promoting, say, a theme or faction wars, where players compete to make factions that can more or less be all powerful - with other things put in to both help and hinder those goals along the way. Having incentive to setting up a powerful, active faction might be something to check out.
Polish, I think, deserves some attention - it shows when a server is made to truly integrate elements in with each other, vs a server that simply throws in plugins. Extensive testing to make sure that what is there works well goes a good distance; it can be easily to kill the feel of the server if something was overlooked and becomes a minor annoyance to members.
Just some things off the top of my head. You might want to ask those few people who come on to your server what they think as well.

That is what i am kind of asking. What new elements do you recommend?
Have you tried actually blending in elements in a way you don't see often?
I would probably leave too if it was survival that I could get on umpteen other servers or make my own easily for.

Survival can get boring, my server started out full survival..and well people left. On PMC you can "update server" then in that area you can press "bump server". This bumps you on the PMC list, and bring a good amount of people each time. If you can not find it, please reply back!

Thank You! But what is a pmc bump? and it is not factions. it is just a survival server. its kinda like factions, but without the raiding. it just has grief prevention, shop. stuff like that. and the people are great. i think people are leaving.... because there isn't anyone on.
Hey Dude! We started out just like you.. we have around 10-15 people on at a time now. I would just say to always bump your server, and encourage players to invite their friends. At my server we give out $1000 if you invite your friend. With normal PMC bumps and players inviting their friends, it grows pretty fast. Make sure your server is unique, and that it has differnt plugins than normal servers. I would suggest not having a faction server, because factions have to be played with lots of people. Towny is fun and works great for small servers. If people are not staying it is because the server is boring, the community sucks, or the staff suck. If you can improve all of those aspects, people do stick. I hope my words helped, and best of luck to you!
