Help can't /give item ids
Hi, I play minecraft 1.12.2 with mods but I cannot use the /give command to give item ids (e.g. 35 is white wool). I need help with this so if anyone has suggestions I'm open to them. Thanks in advance!

i'm pretty sure the ability to give yourself the item through the ID was gone in 1.12 before the IDs themselves were removed in 1.13
i've played 1.12 without mods (only optifine) and i run into this same issue. i can only give myself items using the name of the block

You may want to open your Minecraft without Forge, in vanilla, and try to cast this command. If it works, then the problem is in one of the mods, and you can install and uninstall them one by one checking if it is working. If it fails, you'll want to save your mods and saves and reinstall your Minecraft client. This is all that I can advise.
