I am one of the owners of jpnnetwork.mcpro.co. When I go on, I have all of the perms, but when other people get on, they have no prefix or rank and they say they can't do anything even though I set up perms for the default group. I set it up for them to be called "Member", but instead it doesn't say anything! Please help!

oh yeah i use Group Manager if that wasn't clear as my perms plugin.
Also I can't manually add people using the /manuadd command. I have to go into the file and add them in there and have to restart the server each time.
Use PEX. Its way better, much easier to do and can be operated from in game alone if youd like.

Get rid of Essentials and GroupManager and use PermissionsEx. So much better in every way.
Agreed, come to my server if you want to see it running and I can share my pex file with you; just change the names of the ranks.

Yes... it's riddled with unnecessary features that will only add lag and make your server incompatible with other plugins. A lot of other, smaller plugins do a much better job.

I haven't used PEX but groupmanager has worked wonders for me. And don't delete essentials, it is an ESSENTIAL.
It's an essential if you want to lag up your server and make it feel generic and more like 90% of all other servers out there. It's just unnecessary and has incompatibilities with other plugins.
Essentials doesn't lag up my server and works with every single other plugin I use.
Lag up your server relative to what? And maybe your server has more RAM and can handle more plugins. Either way, I think it's unnecessary. I'm just suggesting that he switched to PEX since he's having problems with Group Manager. If he used PEX in the first place it would have most likely worked like it was supposed to. Many more users face problems using Group Manager than PEX.

...Um, the developer acknowledged the fact that there is a bug in which a lot of users can't edit the config or change any permissions unless the server is shut down. It's just a buggy plugin overall. Use PEX, it's just so much more solid, simple and actually works.
Use PEX it will be much easier to use and less buggy.
