i am pretty shure it wont work, but back up your worlds first...
do frorce update or delete .minecraft and reinstall minecraft
the crash says that theres something wrong, ( or there is no) with openGL, did you change your video card recently, did it work before?
windows xp... oldschool, erm by that im guessing oldschool hardware too, please give more info at what happens to cause the crash,
its probably bad/old/outdated video card drivers, to update them is really easy, can you tell us what type of company your video card belong to? like Nvidia?
Can you post your computer specs for us to see?
From what I am guessing, it might be that your video card is too old. Either look for an update, or buy a new one. And your computer is pretty old too, just by looking at the version of Windows.
