More than likely he doesnt know how to do it, but simply heard someone talking about it. Ask him what he uses. If he answers with something like Java he is an idiot. If he can't answer you he cant. More than likely, this is just another 10 year old who thinks he is a bada-- because he can threaten server owners. Don't sweat it. If you really have a fear of it, purchase DDOS protection. There are numerous companies that offer it. If he is threatening your server, ask your server host about it. If it is home-based follow the instructions above.

DoS (Denial of Service) is one machine, DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) is two or more machines, often involving a botnet. Learn what a phrase means before throwing it around.

oh my. Many uneducated people in this thread. No it does not take 5 pcs to boot someone. No, its not hard to ddos. All you have to do is a buy 1 dollar booter enter the IP and depending on how good the booter is, the ddos will be better. People booting someone with there OWN computers that aren't only made for booting will not do anything. Before you make a comment, please know what you're talking about.

DoSing someone is basically overloading their network with packets any computer can do that if they have an internet that can handle the upstream
As for the OP: Im 100% sure he wont do anything most of the people saying they are going to DoS someone dont even know what that means.
On a side note DoS is illegal.

Report him. It's the only way to stop him. Plus he must know the ip of your computer.

Happened to me, Got DDosed twice. But, lasted a few minutes , DDosing isn't that bad.

DDOS takes two or more PC's, or hosts. DOS won't do crap besides slow your bandwidth down a tiny bit, depending on your ISP.

get ddos protection it's possible on your router (if you know how to get in your router)

Simply ignore him. He most likely doesn't know how to DDoS as it takes 5 PCs to do.
