Hamachi or Port Forwarded Server?
Hello,
I have made a survival island server and I was wondering if I should port forward it or host it on hamachi. I tried to port forward but I needed a password to save changes, but I can find the password. What do you think? Port forward or hamachi? Give me some reasoning not just plain "Hamachi" or "Port forward".

Open a port if you can. Not only is Hamachi more of a hassle for other players wanting to join your server but if I'm not mistaken, Hamachi only gives a 5 person per network limit.
Suggest you rent a server.

Open a port if you can, because for anything to communicate over the internet, it needs a port. That means when you use Hamachi, it uses a port as well so there's really no point (it uses 32976 for the session and that's readily available if you look it up). Also when using Hamachi, (probably not going to happen, but just pointing it out) it makes a VPN, or virtual private network. Basically this is like your own network at home where you can access shared files on someones computer and also if you have a username and password you can log into that computer from yours. Now it isn't likely that people will try to gain access, but you are basically making a line to your computer with Hamachi.

Well to be honest I believe that Hamachi may be a little laggy but port-forwarding isn't that good itself either because it can mess up your ruiter and can be hacked easier
Yes it can mess your Router up (In very very very very rare cases), but no, It can not make your Router be able to get hacked easily.
Every ISP monitors their Customers "Manually Opened Ports" or User Forwarded Ports. If a new port is opened, the ISP is set to put some of their people to work on if it's vulnerable or not, if no such detection is detected the Port will remain open, however if it is vulnerable, your ISP should automatically Un-Forward the port.
Truthfully, I think Port Forwarded Servers are better, I host a server on my Computer with my Ports Opened, and all my Members say they get no lag, and everything is fast. Don't take or take my advice, but think about it
