Well a few days ago i made a superflat world on my 1.2.5 jar, ( ive got all the mods i want to use on it so why not) i started messing around ect, like you do and then i went a little bit away from the spawn area where i had built some stuff, then i died and i thought o well ill spawn next to my stuff and the world will be fine. I then spawn in some random village with nothing in sight, i kept using the /kill command to find the original spawn but it kept placing me in random areas, is there any way i could reset myself to go to the original spawn?
(I am also using single player commands if that could help)

Download McEDIT and look for your spawn in there.
On Minecraft Servers, players spawn within 16 blocks of the actually spawn point and the spawn point, by default, is usually near x=0 and z=0. If your spawn doesn't fit the above criteria, then it might of been set by accident along the way.

with singleplayer commands, you could've just said /home, or tp'ed to 0,3,0. this would've got you near enough your spawn point to see your builds, without placing you inside the ground.
as far as I remember, the 1.2.5 singleplayer commands also allows you to set waypoints. do that in the future, so you won't lose you builds again.

also, you could've got yourself a map and flown around looking for it.
next time (if there ever is), think first, then ask for help.

I did all of that, but this is when maps where crap, so it only showed what i could see. Single player commands for 1.2.5 doesnt have a default home, you need to set it before that, i didnt set a waypoint because i didnt think i was going to die, So i did think first......... its why i posted this

SPC doesn't use homes, if I remember correctly, and it's Rei's Minimap that lets you set waypoints.
