Help?
sorry if this is in the wrong topic.
So I played gta craft for 5 minutes and then I got a blue screen. It said it shutdown to prevent any damage. Could it have been Minecraft or is my pc just bad?

Ah the BSOD....the most overlooked error in Windows where people just restart and they think nothing "bad" happened and is taken as a stroke of "luck". Windows 8 makes this error even more vague which doesn't help much with being taken seriously.
Realization starts setting in when you find out Windows doesn't produce a BSOD, NT (the kernel, which has all the drivers and pretty much keeps an OS stable and intact) does. Meaning it could be a faulty driver, a hardware problem, something got passed Windows own security of policies and invaded the kernel and caused corrupted memory in a memory address, a DLL problem, a Microsoft problem, etc.
The first thing I would do is a memory check, which could be a problem for something like memtest and I found out UEFI's memory mapping is a bit different than what memtest usually is used on, BIOS. So you want to find a UEFI version of memtest. I assume Windows 8 came on this computer making UEFI what your computer uses. Check your memory.
You can use a BSOD dump reading program. I know of one but can't remember the name at the moment.

I feel like Windows 8.1 explains it better. It just gives you the error, while all the other stuff goes on in the back. When you see the error, do a quick search, don't turn your computer back on, figure out a fix, do it, and then boot and no more problems.
Could you replicate the issue and take a picture of the blue screen when it happens?
If we can see what it says then maybe we can help you more.

48productionsepicanthony76It said it shutdown to prevent any damage.
You could have a virus on your computer. Or you got the blue screen of death that everyone above me mentioned.
Do you have any anti-virus software installed on your computer? Have you been randomly clicking on links or ads that might have said something like "Free cape!!!" or "Click to fix your PC!!!"?
I have an antivirus and I have adblock so those things dont popup
If you're only getting blue screened when playing the game it is unlikely it is a virus or any form of malware.
Could be a memory issue, if it happens again, reinstall the game.

I don't think it is a virus.

Probably like ashfur said, blue screen of death. It probably looks like this:

Most of the time that is a bad sign.
#BSOD
Could be the blue screen of death,
if it was that, (It might look slightly different, just look up pics of the blue screen of death) then you clicked something, or even exited out of an advertisement that wanted to "Fix" The "Virus" In your computer. if you accepted it, or even accidently hit the wrong button, then you could have downloaded malware onto your computer (Malware sucks, its where there is some virus sucking data and info out of your computer ) and that leads to shut downs and blue screen of death. If that was not the case, then sorry for wasting your time

Blue screens of death doesn't always mean its a virus, or a software issue, when really, a lot of blue screen of deaths I've ever gotten were due to hardware failure.
^ Yeah sorry I forgot that part xD I was speaking form experience as well so I'm not an expert >.<
To me it was bad comp.
