Hey All! I have recently tried to get onto MC and once I do it says, "A new update is available" and after I click "Not Now," It just turns into a Black Screen... Doesn't change... PLEASE HELP<3

There is a few out there which claim to be legal, but that is the only way if you did not keep any backups. But on Minecraft Forums, they let basically anything stay there. But the version changer I use says the following

So yeah. It may just be lies, but I am sure, if you are absolutely necessary and freaked out, don't worry, it is okay. But, I dunno if this is completely legal. I won't provide a link in case it is illegal so I could be reported.

The problems you are encountering are due to Mods. If the Mod is a different version to your Minecraft, you'll get a black screen. The problem with upgrading your Minecraft version right when the updates come out is that Mods take a few more days to get to the current Minecraft version. Right now, there aren't many legitimate ways of downgrading your Minecraft, so i'd suggest "Force Updating" your Minecraft on the login page, and deal with having no Mods for a few days.
Another problem that could be causing the black screen is you haven't deleted META-INF when you installed the Mods. (located in minecraft.jar).

You might of installed some Mods and forgot to delete META-Inf?

Ethier you have to do force update or Acctualy update it Then down grade it back if you want

Update? Have you bought Minecraft, if you are using the demo it might be the problem, if you are using an alpha/beta client or cracked it could be problematic, also you could be using a 3rd party launcher, if you are, go to the default Minecraft launcher. If all else fails, save your worlds and whatever else, and reinstall Minecraft.
