ok, so im trying to set up a server. i got client, i can get on, but i think i did port forwarding wrong or something! my friends cant get on at all! i honestly have no idea what to do! they use the correct ip adress, including the port 25565. i dont know whats wrong, but i need to figure it out! please help!

i might want to mention, i looked at some youtube videos for help, did EXACTLY as they said to port forward fo Dlink(which is what i have) and when i use a port checker, it says the connection timed out and it cant reach 25565
They are probably using the internal port, they have to use the external port for them to connect.
i gave them the external port, but it says cannot reach server.

Are you using the application port map
when using port map one must add mapping, if you have already tried that then put the folder of the server on your desktop (i had to do that to let people on my server) if you have done both of these im not quite sure
what do you mean add mapping? is that in server properties?
