Help Installing Optifine!

I downloaded the newest Optifine installer for 1.8 and it said it couldn't find the right program to open it. So, I though, "Hey, maybe I should use WinRar." Guess what? Still doesn't work. And now every file is in the WinRar format! Help? How do I use the installer!

right click on it select open with and select java
Download the optifine .jar
double click it.
DONE.
double click it.
DONE.
