Hello PMC! I have a pretty good PC, I'll put specs below but before this all happened I was getting around 100 fps give or take a little. But my PC has been slow so I reset it and started fresh thinking my Minecraft was gonna go back to 100 fps, but when I reset it, it was the same as before around 10-30 FPS. I honestly don't know what to do at this point because I play competitive Minecraft and need a really good PC! Please give me any suggestions below!
Specs:
Windows 8 64bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core i3-2120 CPU 3.3GHz
6gb ram
Graphics: GeForce GT 640
I bought this PC less than a year ago! And I reset it to factory defaults and restarted and was still getting 30 FPS.
I also use Razer game booster and have all Programs shut down! Please help me!

My computer also did this at one point. I think I fixed it, noticing it had a virus (probably from a bugged download), but my computer is still a bit slow. I reset the computer multiple times, but it only seemed to make it fast for the first hour. Now I can only hold one mod at a time on my computer, and they have to be smaller mods.
Resetting doesn't help, so it's really pointless. I did fix it by getting rid of all my mods, resource packs AND re-downloaded Minecraft. I think if you also delete everything in your "saves" file (all your worlds), that could solve a problem or two. You may get away with pulling one or two onto your desktop before getting rid of the file, and then drag it back in.
Now, i don't suggest doing this because it gets rid of all your data that you will never get back.
Some questions that may lead to the solution:
-Have you downloaded ANYTHING recently?
-What version of Minecraft are you playing on? Snapshots, especially the latest one, does decrease your frame rate.
Other suggestions:
I'm not sure this will have a large impact on your frame rate, but if you have them enabled, disable "Beta" and "Alpha" modes on the launcher screen.
I don't think there is anything more you can do except for using the "Noob Boost"
"Noob Boost" is having render distance down, Fast graphics instead of fancy, clouds off, particles minimal, smooth lighting off, etc.
Point is, your minecraft may not look amazing, but it will run better than if all the settings were on.
I don't know. Research more into the subject. Perhaps you'll find the solution.

53MP3RF1For a less-than-a-year-old PC, those aren't very good specs at all. That's a second-generation i3 processor, and I don't think that graphics card is very good.
That's what I was thinking too, but he said that Minecraft used to run at 100 FPS, so I don't think it's a problem with his hardware.
I have downloaded the Navidia driver and everything.

Have you updated your drivers? Resetting a PC often takes it back to the starting image that it came on. Remember when you first got it, how you had to download all of those updates? Yeah, those all probably got removed when you reset the PC. Try going to your various part manufacturers (Intel, nVidia) and downloading the latest drivers for your specific graphics card and CPU.
Hope I helped! ^^
Oh, in response to changing from integrated graphics on the i3 vs. the Graphics card, I believe that you need to find out where the graphics card's output is on the case (it'll probably be apart from the USB slots on the back, or at least slightly apart) and plug in your cord there.

Did you set an FPS cap?
Max FPS
It might be using the intergrated graphics on the i3 instead of the gt 640
How do I change this?
By "reset", do you mean restore to factory default?
Yes all programs gone harddrive wiped cleaN!
Oh and I have Optifine and all my setting set to the lowest amount!
