To find out your external IP (The one people outside of you wi-fi use), I use this site:
http://www.ipchicken.com/
Use "localhost" for your internal IP.

more info? Like: have you portfowarded, is the server local?
when you try to connect to the server from your client in the ip address box you need to put localhost not the ip of your computer
