Hi, it's me again.
This time, I need help setting up Permissions on a SpongeForge server. Right now, I am running the following plugins on a Forge server hosted by Shockbyte managed through multicraft: SpongeForge, Nucleus, LuckPerms, and Pixelmon. I've managed to make a "Owner" group and added myself to it, and I gave myself all LuckPerms permissions. I opped and whitelisted myself in the server files, but I had to turn off the whitelist to get on and no operator commands are working. I want to make an Owner Group, and Admin group, a Mod group, and then use the Default group. I'm incredibly new to this, please help.

Hello marzstorm. If you need some help pm me on discord: ezacu#3233 I'll probably be able to explain the gist of things on how to use luckperms and I could also guide you through creating the groups.

EDIT: Also you might want to try and join the LuckPerms discord. The staff and players there are really helpful and can help solve and answer any problem you have. https://discordapp.com/invite/W3FzxHA

I didn't know LuckPerms had a discord :O I'll check that out. Thank you very much! I'll add you too, just in case I need help with other plugins or what not.

I've never used luckperms, but it's probably pretty similar to every other permissions plugin (I've always used PEx)

First up, pull up the page where you download each plugin. Somewhere there should be a wiki link or permissions link that links all permissions. Go to the permissions list for all of your plugins except your permissions plugin; pull up the commands page for that one.

Most permissions plugins have a parenting system. As in you create a group, and can set it as a parent, such that the "offspring" gets all the commands of the previous rank.

Because of this you want to start with your lowest rank. Go through each plugin and identify what you want your players to do and what you don't want them to do, as well as perhaps limiting them to some things etc. Start adding pernipermis for your first rank. Notice that some permissions will allow a star. For example, in essentials you can right click special signs to do things, like set it to day, buy items, get a kit, etc. Instead of writing out each permission (i.e. essentials.sign.use.kit, essentials.sign.use.day, etc) you can sometimes just use essentials.sign.use.* to allow all sub permissions with one permission. This can save you time, so look out for those.

Once your done with your default group, create your next rank up (example, moderator) and set the default group to be the parent of the moderator group .This will automatically allow the moderator group to have all of the default groups permissions. Add your moderator perms, create admin and set moderator as parent. Add your admin perms, etc, etc.

That'll be the most efficient way to create your permissions.

Thank you, but one thing about LuckPerms is the Perms are already sorted into groups. I will, however, be able to use this for installing new plugins. Thank you so much!
