Im not new to servers, nor new to minecraft. Ive been apart of both since they came out, but there is still 1 think i dont understand. Why is it that servers feel the need to try and have multiple parts all on 1 server? Like what is the purpose of a faction, minigame, parkour, and survival world all on the same server when none of them really are good? Why not make a server with just 1 focus and have it be an actual good server instead of a ton of crap that doesnt really run right?

Can someone explain this?

yeah. makes sense. still hate it. I have to work hard to get a good community on my faction world while they have the ability to draw so many people because of the sheer size of the server

Well, its all about competition. They want to make it more convenient for a player. Why play on 3 different specialized servers when you can play on one? Problem being is that it is hard enough to run a good server at the base level on its own, and when people try to cram 3 different servers into one with the same or less number of skilled server admins, things tend to get overlooked and details are left out.

yeah well... about the only thing it does is raise expectation for other specialized servers and result in them getting less traffic
