Help with lag
I'm at a loss, I'm trying to play ftb monster and other ftb mods and the lag is so bad i cant play. I have 5gb ram dedicated to it.(have a total of 8 on computer total ram usage is only 65-70% when trying to play with other things running) My cpu usage is around 67-80% while playing. Ive seen people have had luck with adding this to the adv perm under options -XX:MaxPermSize=128M Ive added this and even tried to increase with no luck. Ive checked my java 64bit all seems well there. Ive increased the ram(allowing enough room for other applications to run) and lowered with no luck. Any suggestions?

FTB is one of the biggest modpacks so to run it you will need a beefy computer, try to turn off all the other programs while you are playing and if you can, Limit your fps to 30. Or use a mod called Optifine

I've closed everthing down and have tried same thing. However I've never tried to limited the fps.

Im not running a server, Although in the past I have ran a tekkit server from it and had no problem playing (tekkit) alongside the server running. Seems to me its something to do with the ftb launcher.
FTB is ALOT more resource intensive than Tekkit. as it has alot more mods and configs and res genning e.t.c e.t.c. You probably don't have a strong engnough graphics card/ graphics chip in your computer. Also do you have a desktop or a laptop?
Right, that was one of my first thoughts maybe my card was junk, However Ive ran packs on the Technic launcher with 160+ mods with no issue. I'm using a desktop
Suggestion:
Dont run a server off your computer while trying to play.
( Unless you have a great computer that can handle it. )
