Help me with Minecraft 1.7.2

I've noticed that most people who have this problem are using windows 8...
Including myself. I hate win 8 :/

my problem is kinda different, I was able to play on 1.7.2. back then, but now whenever i try to launch minecraft it always gets an error, how can i fix this?

The problem is that the Minecraft 1.7.2 folder version is not in youre version folder oh btw thousands of people are searching for the version folder right now and it will soon be found)Mojang has been getting annoyed by hackers so they deleted the version folder and now there hosting off the mojang office pc

It's not your computer. It's not windows. It's not your version of Java (necessarily, might be a bug in Oracle Java, I have 1.7_45,) deleting your .minecraft (yes all of it) won't help.
I've done all that, and it has hit me on multiple computers(5 of them) with Linux and far less often Windows.
Deleting .minecraft might help; I have one running in a ramdisk that never hits this problem but gets deleted regularly and restored from a backup.
On the computer affected most by this bug, simply killing the java process (ctrl+c in the shell I started from,) and trying again... and again, and again... until it works.

Make a backup of what?, i have already tried deleting my .minecraft completely and launching the launcher. the only files it downloads for me are:

assets
mods ( voxel map)
versions (empty)
Launcher
launcher.pack.lzma
launcher_profiles.json

Making a backup and completely re-installing Minecraft generally solves this problem. Do not forget to properly delete all the minecraft related files under your "App Data" folders.

I can't even get onto the login screen. it just crashes all the time :/

I have the same launcher problem aswell. this is my specs for my pc to prove its the launcher and not my pc. i also have java up to date and have deleted my .minecraft. and the problem still persists.

I got same problem with minecraft. I can run version 1.6.4 without any problems. But from snapshot 13w38c start this problems. Just minecraft stop responding. Also all block is just black without any texture. So If someone have working solution i will be happy if it post here.

ok then delete your 1.7.2 version folder, that looks like it could be corrupt or something, and if that fails get rid of your worlds. by now you should have cleaned out your .minecraft. if it still doesn't work delete the whole .minecraft and start all over. if you still crash your computer is possessed, you may need to find a priest and some holy water. ( to confirm though you did update 64 and 32 bit java right?)

do you run mods, and is your java up to date. if that is not the problem(s) take your .minecraft and back it up, then delete everything but the worlds and versions folder then try a clean restart. good luck.

So wait, your minecraft username is Kdubb4774, and you named your world penis? lulz. Anyway, the problem might be that your computer for some reason is trying to delete your .minecraft/versions file.
