About 3~4 months ago, I was playing with a few friends on my server. We were still searching for more people to join the server and one player stood out. They simply asked to show us something cool. We gave them a brewing stand and a bunch of things to make a potion. When the player was done, they told us to stand together and they threw this splash potion at us. We got every effect instantly and even earned the achievement for it. If anybody knows this recipe or method, please do tell. This has us boggled and we've been scouring the web to figure out how they pulled that off. Any help is appreciated.

Well, you're able to do it with commands. If they had op they could have just pretended to use the brewing stand and /give themselves the potion.
They most likely used a command to make a special potion that has every effect on it.
