HighVoltageRaid Breakdown - Help Appreciated!

Hi there PMC!
I've spent the last four weeks of my time developing and putting together a system perfect server I have been planning for months before and it has been released, and I've already began work with my next project whilst still focusing on project one. I'm stuck at the just-starting spot with very few players as I've spent so much time trying to perfect things but I don't quite know what to do from here! Our current PMC & MCF isn't doing much, but I'm planning to redesign us a new clean MCF/PMC thread and complete graphic set Any suggestions to get out of the 0-5 players hole when I have a server that "outruns" a lot of other servers in this genre?
I develop a majority of our plugins because at least 40% are custom, I do all our graphics work, web development, back end management, marketing and moderation. We have only 5 members of management but are not lacking any assistance and I'm very proud of our small support teams efficiency, there's always someone online 24/7 to answer any live support requests via our website or just in game queries.
I've come to you fellas' today to see what your take was on my work that I've spent so long on. I want to give users a truly professional & slick feeling of an enjoyable no protection raiding server that strives to keep balance(balance means balance, not like every other easy come easy go overpowered server, not here) and strive to maintain cool and unique features to avoid saturation and not sticking out, and we do I firmly believe that we are achieving all I have stated above. However we just don't have the response yet after all who wants to join a community with no one there! we are ascending on server listings gradually so please don't post advertise your server more, give them a better reason to vote etc. etc. relax. we are already ahead of you, it's done people vote almost everyone that joins however we simply do not have the traffic we need. We don't have an 'ew' spawn or spamming outrageous flashing bold text all over your screen upon joining, it's a clean chat. I have already finished our first 'marketing partnership' with our first 'YouTuber' in game he currently has around 1400 subscribers and in doing so I made big links with another YouTuber with approx 140,000 subscribers.
So PMC, shoot me helpful & constructive advice or just a general nice comment
Also please don't complain that our website is Enjin, we are happy at that and it looks a lot better that many other Enjin communities and I simply do not have the money to purchase a XenForo licence etc. I've ran servers on a large scale before and they were not even as good as this one and still took in 50,000 players every 4/5 months. Thanks for taking your time to read my post! If you can help me in any way you know it will be greatly appreciated.

Improvements of today 26th May 2014:
1) Cleaned chat formatting
-Smoother
-Ensures no walls of text
-Eye friendly - no lucid colors etc.
2)Recreated a plugin to automatically wipe entities in a chunk when a user leave that area
-Doesn't remove items
-What it removes:
exp orbs

I've added it so that players can now connect with any 1.7.x client surely this should increase traffic that reaches the server?
Still looking for help please post, greatly appreciated.

Graphic pieces have been added to this post!
Do a refer a friend event, top player who refers the most players that stay! gets a staff position or a high donation rank.
Get a good advert out there like you said, you can advertise on sites from as little as 10p or 10 cents or w/e your currency is.
Create a Facebook / twitter page get all your current players to join and share their friends ( best way to see who adds the most etc)
but It takes time, and lots of it, if you can stick it out for a few months players will see your not going anywhere anytime soon, just keep your chins up and keep banging them updates out!
Best of luck to you and the team!

We would never consider giving out a staff rank as such, I don't really like referral systems as they can be automatic however are very messy. I have no other ideas as to some 'referring' system substitute.
Paid advertising, I'll put around €50 euro to it as a trial run hopefully it comes off well depending, or I might just purchase a 'Premium Slot' on a website like
Minecraft-Mp, I had some good experience with that in the past however it is costly in the region to $500+ for a sole month, but I jumped a server from 10/150 to 150/150 in a few says with it, funds are low but getting by.
Social media done months ago, active posts mini competitions and other things to try bring people in.
Thanks for the advice it's great to hear!

New implementations should be active this weekend, may benefit the servers overall appeal. Still looking for your views and assistance if you know what you're talking about. No silly replies please.
If you haven't already, get a Community Manager (or two) and have them start organizing/advertising server events. Events are a pretty good way to get players on your server, and if you have your server as "professional" and "unique" as you say it is, then those players that join will likely stay (at least some, so if you do this regularly, and have good event ideas/people who know how to set them up right then you'll get players).
Also, and I know you don't want to hear this, but patience. The internet is hard to predict/control, just be ready for when it happens, cause if you aren't, and it happens, it will be a long time before it happens again.

We have a 'manager' of the likes, we don't advertise events in past experience nobody ever really came to the server just for the event, maybe we just didn't have appealing events?
It is possible that you don't have the right type of events. It's hard to predict and and move with the eb and flow of the internet's current interests. Obviously as you know, mini-games are the "cool and popular" thing for MC at the moment (that likely won't be permanent). Having an event that has "mini-game-type features" in it could help bring popularity. I would advise trying to have your current "manager" pay close attention to the trends of the MC community to have a better understanding of what is really popular (the most popular of the mini-games, for instance) and try it apply the currents of those trends to your events.
Once again, persistence and patience are the key things you are going to need. None of this will come quickly or easily.

I see where you're coming from we can't just in the Mini-game areas just quite yet they are very hard servers to fill without some form of good mass advertising. I'm just going to keep working hard at the system I have add in a few smaller things events the like to try keep the players online happy, all the more reasoning to stay perhaps!
Completely understandable about the mini-games. They are uber hard on a server to run. Perhaps try smaller, less intensive ones like spleef or MobArena with custom rewards for that event, then just disable them after the event. Host in monthly, and take player suggestions for ways to improve it/rewards to have. It will make players feel more involved with the server community that way.
I've developed a basis of a custom minigame like mob arena, but it's going to be a hell of a lot better if you like. This one could be a winner,
Hey man! Just checked out your website and I have to say it is really awesome! It looks simple and user friendly, with not too much going on that will distract us from the important stuff.
Keep up the great work dude!
