I pay a company for a unlimited hosting plan, for websites.
I am wondering how I would be able to setup a server that is hosted on those servers.
Would I need to have one of the people from the hosting company do it? Or can I do it on my own?
I plan to setup a small, possibly whitelisted server just for me and some friends to play on. Probably a 5-10 people server.

Ok, I contacted my hosting company, and they replied with...
"Possibly, what are the technical requirements for the server? I can see if the servers are geared to handle it."
What should I respond with?

thi i would just google free minecraft server hosts and see what you get like i said some will give you a small free server in hopes you will buy a bigger one later

Well I host through a local company and I am not at the point where I could easily pay $24 a month for a server to do stuff with friends.

These plans are for websites and for websites only they cant run any code serverside other than php the only thing that might work is executing the jar through php but I dont think that would work since it requires java and the exec command enabled.
On a website hosting plan? No , if you have ssh access tho it is possible to host a server and a website on the same machine.

or googlr free minecraft hosting some server host will give you a small server like 5-8 people for free in hopes you will eventually pay for a bigger server
