I would highly recommend http://www.SnowStormServers.com I've hosted with them for years, They have amazing Specs, Not to mention Budget and Premium Plans. The Only issue is, they only have one person on the staff team, but he reads the emails every few hours, so there shouldn't be an issue with that!

No DDoS protection? You can get cheap DDoS protection with a DDoS protected VPS(Buyvm, etc), and use either a tcptunnel or GRE tunnel to forward packets to the hidden back end server. It only costs a few bucks a month, compared to those professional DDoS protection services. DDoS'ers would attack the front end VPS, which won't have anything running on it except the TCP or GRE tunnel, so your back end server running the actual minecraft server and other stuff does not get affected. You could also put up multiple VPS's pointing to your server in different locations, as there is a bit of a delay between the player to proxy to server. If you're constantly getting DDoS'd, multiple proxies could still allow your players to connect, the DDoS attack would only affect one of the proxies.

Then again, you could try with hosthorde, but I'm not sure how they would handle the amount of players you are going to have on.

Hosthorde is a pretty good host. You can test their connection to their demo server, check their plans tab for the IP. They have an acceptable use policy, like they do not allow their clients to have, for example, 5 players on while using 5 GB ram. If you have like 100 players on and using more ram than 5 players would need(Obviously), they allow that. You start out with 5 GB storage and 6 GB ram. If you run out of storage, just open a ticket and they will raise it. I'm assuming ram would work the same way, if you are using it "acceptably."

Another good feature, is that they filter out most DDoS attacks, although a few months ago they have experienced a few which affected the whole node that servers were on. They do not occur often now, but they do sometimes have maintenance's sometimes which can make your server go down just a few minutes.

The thing is, if you are looking to host ~300 people, and require hardware that can better handle that, I would recommend a dedicated server, instead of using a game server provider. You will get better performance and benefits(web servers, voice servers, own control panel, etc. :D ). I would recommend ovh for a dedicated server. :)

well its the unlimited that is so intresting because with last server we needed 16gb of RAM to handle 300players and we need some good connection and if possible ddos protection
