if i could help,my computer is a Mac OS X v. 10.9 (Mavericks)
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft and go into mods and put the zipfiles in there. Skydaz does not work on Macs, it's WinForms built. I hate Skydaz anyway.
EDIT: Download the Installer on the Forge page, not Installer-Win when you get forge

Skydaz is a good place if you just want to play Mods. But you can also use Forge. Forge covers all version up to 1.7.2 i believe and its fairly easy. Just download the installer, open it, click on Install to client, and when its done, load it up one time by opening your client and going to the new profile called Forge. When that is done. Exit out and go to your .minecraft folder. There should be a new folder called Mods and you can drag the mods you want into that folder. Some require dependencies, but be sure to read about the mod before you download it. Once you drag the mods in the mod folder, exit out of .minecraft and open you client. Be sure to be on forge! Then click play, and you're done! Hope I helped!
Skydaz is a great website with a bunch of mods that have automatic installers that will do the work for you.. You'll need Forge already installed, but you can get an automatic installer for that too. Just make sure you have the right versions of everything and you should be fine!
Just click the download link on the website for whatever mod.
