How do I change mob skins???????

I made some mob skins and I'd really like to use them. All websites and posts talking about it says to go to minecraft.jar but I can't find that on my computer. I'd really like to continue making skins and putting them into my game but how can I do that if I can't even put one in my game. If anyone knows how to change these mob skins please let me know!

If you're looking to make a texture pack, go to https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Tutorials/Creating_a_resource_pack and follow the tutorial, then put your skins into the appropriate folder.
