So, I was basically forced to upgrade to Windows 10 version and I cannot seem to connect to a server the way i used to. I put in the address and port, but keep getting unable to connect to world. It is as if it is not there. I have forwarded all my ports on my router to no avail. Anyone know how to fix this?

Windows 10 is not the same as the Java version, everything including multiplayer works quite differently.
But just because you have Windows 10 doesn't mean that you can't continue to play the Java version, which is what I'd be doing.

Last time I checked, you can not connect to servers on Minecraft Windows 10. Though do check your firewall.
