Download a map and unzip it into the saves folder

If you are talking maps from this site, then lets take the example of this map :
https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/skyview-palace-1-13/
To download the map, click on the blue coloured 'Download Mirror' button. You will be warned that you are leaving Planet Minecraft, but that's ok, you need to do this. When the file is downloaded, you will need to open it with a zip program like 7zip or winrar to see the contents. 7zip is free and can be obrained here : https://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Once you've opened the file in a zip program ( don't use default Windows explorer, it'll show a blank file) click on the Skyview Palace folder, then on the world save folder, then on the skyview palace folder and these are all the world save files. This world was created in 1.13.x but you could open it in 1.14.2 as well. Now leave this folder open for the moment, you'll be needing all the files in it shortly.
So, you need to find your 'saves' folder which is inside your .minecraft folder. Create a new directory inside the saves folder and in this case, well call it 'Skyview Palace'. Once created, copy all the files from the zip file into this newly created folder and run either Minecraft 1.13.x or 1.14.x and you should see the saved map in your list when you click on the 'singleplayer' button.
