When you launch Minecraft, it'll say single player and multiplayer, Click multiplayer then click 'add server' then it will give you 2 options, 'server name' and 'server address' the server name can be whatever you desire but server address has to be the IP given by the server owner.

Find a server you think you would enjoy, and join with the IP :D
