How do I install mods?

I'm pretty new to java edition, and have NO experience on installing mods so I can't test them.Please help.I have a mac and minecraft launcher, and java.thanks

get a modloader and double-right-click the jar file
You need a modloader, I reccomend Modrinth, it has the ability to download mods from it's site from the app directly instead of having to go to the website- plus any ads that you see give profit directly to the creators of said mods.
