How do I load a mc map in java edition?
6
Windows: Okay, so what you need to do is firstly type %appdata% in the searchbar on the lower left corner. A folder should pop up in that list. Click it and you will be brought to the Appdata folder. There should be a folder in there called "Roaming". Double click that and there should be a folder at the top called ".minecraft". Double click that and you will be shown a lot of folders. Now, go to a folder called "saves", where you can put a map. If your map is zipped, unzip it or extract it to the saves folder.
Alternative: If you have trouble doing the above process, this should help out a little. So, first you need to open file explorer. Now you want to look the the top left, and click view. There should be a box called "Hidden Files", click it so it shows a check mark next to it. Then, click on "This PC". After that, double click on "Local Disk (C:)". Then, double click on Users, then your username (example: OS:C\Users\username), then a grayed out folder that says "AppData". In there, there should be Roaming, then .minecraft, and the saves folder.
The same should be for Mac, except the .minecraft folder is located where Clygro said it was (~/Library/Application/Support/minecraft).

are you on windows?
mac
What you do is go to your saves (in the minecraft folder), generally %APPDATA%\.minecraft (on windows) or ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft (on mac) put your downloaded map in the folder, then unzip it. It should appear, it can sometimes be on the bottom of the worlds list.
i dont see a minecraft folder
should be there once you download it
