How do you fix the minecraft client ping issue?

Hello!
So recently I tested my ping to the location of my favorite server, and I got 35ms ping which is much better than what I get in-game. In-game I get 113ms ping to that server. I was wondering if anyone may know of a reason why? There is also another server that I should be getting around 14ms ping but I get 100ms. I know its nothing wrong with my WiFi as I have checked it at friends houses as well as they've check too. Any suggestions?
