I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THE 'CASE' JAVA FORMAT HE'S USING AS MOST PLUGIN TUTORIALS HAVE INDIVIDUAL METHODS WHICH ARE A COMPLETE MESS FOR BEGINNERS.
EVEN IF YOUR PRO THIS MAKES IT ALOT EASIER

1 question though will the tutorial work for 1.12.2???

yes. it should work for 1.8+ (not 1.13) just get the right jar if your doing plugin dev or correct forge for mods. feel free to PM me for help
