SO I have an idea for a server, but I need a diverse realistic terrain for it, and i dont know how to either generate one that is amazing looking, nor do I have the time or knowledge to build one, so how would I go about getting a great base world?

I toured many world generators before discovering this on youtube.
This is an offline editor that saves your server massive work generating
complex terrain and pre builds all chunks so there is not ever any
new undiscovered chunk load/write lag. It's a mad tool. Use it.

Get any image. Better yet, get a topological height map of the actual world.
Now get worldpainter. Import height map...
There is your 1000s of blocks wide playable map of the world
complete with realistic mountain and ocean depth, accurate coastlines
and valley areas worldwide. Now paint yes with a brush, cave networks and
resources, trees, elevation tweaks and even schematics.
I made a dark ages Scotland 100% Geological satallite survey accuracy ;p
and a wicked nasty skull fractal map totally awesome Dynmap result.
Factions PVP could compete for the entire world?! Or just Scotland.. ofc ;p
Or? Just use the many brushes and terrain layer options
to manually draw an entire world, mountains, valleys lakes and all.

It's very easy to use and provides lightning fast world manipulation on a massive scale.
