Hi this is edlee0220 and I am asking how to download and install mods for mine craft. Lots of people are having trouble with this and I want it to be very good and well written I have a MacBook Pro. I want the TNT mod if that changes anything. If it is possible I would like a mod that all you have to download is the mod itself not any other websites but www.planetminecraft.net.

How to install mods

1- almost all (99.9%) mods use winrar/winzip/etc...(archive program)
2- you may install some/most mods such as optifine, using magic-launcher
3- some mods can be used with forge/modloader, forge can be used with SMP
while mod loader is SP only.
4- now to install mods: windows
• press [WINDOWS-KEY] + R, then type in "%appdata%"(without " 's)
• go into .minecraft -> bin -> minecraft.jar
• right-click minecraft.jar, open with winrar/winzip/etc...
• delete META-INF before anything
• open up mod archive and drag n' drop mod files into minecraft.jar
- if using forge/modloader it will create files in your .minecraft, don't edit those
Forge will have a "forge is creating environment(loading files)"
• then test mods out
Enjoy and there ya go!

Usually on the forum or page there's a tutorial. different mods are installed in different ways
