How to let new players play?
My server is suffering from regular users. I know my server is fun as people that do play my server love playing it
What I believe what is making people leave is I force new players to play in a decent sized box with no commands for 30 mins. This is to deter greifers, as greifers dont want to wait.
I want to hear how others work their server with new players.
I thought about letting them roam the world freely with no no abilities other than building, mining, and so forth for 30 minutes, but im not sure.

i just use logblock and keep them in the survival world until they autorank after 2 hours because that worlds logged adn i can rollback anything they do...
stop spamming
Then let them wait in a bedrock room. That sound good enough for you?
I just found the right plugin to help with my dilemma.
Server Signs.
With It I made it so players must earn enough cash in the Noob Box, then when they have enough they can use a sign that charges them the money, clears their inventory, warps them to the appropriate area TWICE (so they cant use /back), ups their rank to Member and gives them a starter kit!

Here's an idea, make them have to register on a blog, or clan site, or maybe your own site. when they've registered and told you, you can check all users on your site/blog/etc to see if they have registered and activated their account, then you can register them on the actual server.
Well the thing about that is I dont have a site nor the means to make one.
The best thing I have is a facebook page of my server.

maybe get a registry administrator plugin for your bukkit server. On my server, I have a plugin called "ServerLock." This stops people from joining my server, unless you put them on the bypass list. I use this to lock the server when I'm doing something for a short period of time, say for example, going to the toilet, or grabbing a snack, for longer periods of time, like eating dinner with the family, going out, or even going for a shower, I stop the server all-together. there are plenty of administrator plugins available at bukkit.org!
That doesnt do what I want it to do.
