I don't think coding has something to do with banners...
If your thinking about creating a thing based on the concept of the signatures, Then I would think code all the way. Unless theres a website/plugin.
What kind of banner do you want to make? Something for your signature?
Get the code for the forum signature and put it on your forum signature area under profile
