Well if your here you probably want to make A server and would like to use Canary mod

well step one is to go to http://www,canarymod.net/

you will then go to downloads (shortcut here) http://www.canarymod.net/download/

and if you want to run an older minecraft version server then i would suggest a canary file.
Canary for MC Beta 1.8 - http://dl.canarymod.net/file.php?dl=canary-b9.zip

if you are running minecraft 1.0-1.1 you got to use crow

Crow for minecraft 1.1 - http://dl.canarymod.net/crow/file.php?d ... 4.4.10.zip

one problem i had was understanding the configuration files which are located under the config folder *yea i was that guy that missed that*

The group file and user files were the ones I had trouble with, the main points i have problems with was a part that said admin/unrestricted and also gave numbers Took me about three times looking at it that those numbers replaces that in the order

once you get past the little Add-ons of it it is basically like a normal server.

once you get your server.properties set up just Run the server.bat you whether its GUI or no-GUI

Luckily if you do have problems or wonder what something special is they have a wiki

http://wiki.canarymod.net

If you think this is a bad tutorial im sorry but its pretty straight forward on how to make a server and this method is mostly done for you. im jsut tired of seeing people asking how to make a server

I use the Canary mod for my server and creepers don't blow up when you want up to them only when you hit them and all other mods are frozen. To make mobs move you need to hit them. Honestly I just want a server with the /sethome and the /home command with /spawn and /rules, /tpa would be nice too. Do you know how to set up a bukkit server with those commands?
