First I would get some DDoS and DOS protections, also if ur server is cracked, get AntJoinBot to prevent those, and keep the slots at like 25. IF you are running a server that gets max players all the time, raise it by 5, and so on, or 10, Your choice. Since u got 3GB of ram, I think you'll do fine

What is the Best Service for DDOS Protection?

You can get a cheap host like DigTheMine, they use multicraft and i'm hosted by them. Honestly you don't need DDoS protection unless you plan on growing into a huge community.

The slots honestly doesn't matter. As long as those slots aren't full you can have 750 slots. Just matters if the players actually join and fill up the slots
