No one ever seems to have the right answer when it comes to using Hamachi to connect with a friend using the LAN feature! But I have your solution with easy to follow steps. It'll work! I promise!

Be sure to create a new hamachi network by clicking on the Network tab and choosing Create a new network! Don't make the password your own because you're going to have to give this password to your partners to connect to your hamachi network!

Here we go!

  • 1.Make sure Hamachi is
  • offline
  • 2.Open
  • Task Manager
  • 3.Click the
  • Services
  • tab
  • 4.Click
  • Services
  • 5.Click
  • LogMeIn hamachi Tunneling Engine
  • 6.Click
  • Stop the service

  • 7.Open up
  • run
  • 8.Type
  • ncpa.cpl
  • and press enter
  • 9.Right click on
  • Hamachi
  • 10.Click
  • Properties
  • 11.Click
  • Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
  • 12.Click
  • Properties
  • 13.Click
  • Advanced
  • 14.
  • Uncheck
  • Automatic metric
  • 15.Change
  • Interface metric
  • to
  • 1
  • 16.Click
  • Ok

  • 17.Open
  • task manager
  • ,
  • Services
  • tab,
  • Services
  • , click
  • LogMeIn Hamachi Tunneling Engine
  • ,
  • Start the service

Go to your singleplayer world and then Open to LAN. Something like 0.0.0.0:xxxxx should appear in your chat box. The x's are your LAN server port number. This number will be different every time you open a new LAN connection, meaning you will have to give your partner the new port number whenever a new LAN server is created. Replace the 0.0.0.0 with your Hamachi iPv4 address, which is the IP that appears at the top of your Hamachi. Then, replace the x's with the port number that was given to you when you opened your LAN server in the game. Now, It should look something like this 25.180.46.230:64278. This is the address that you give to your partner to enter in the Direct Connect tab of the minecraft Multiplayer mode.

That's it for you! But! Your pal that's joining in on your server also needs to follow these same steps! Not just you!

Now, here are the steps that your friend needs to follow to actually join in your LAN server after they have followed the steps above.

  • 1.Turn on
  • Hamachi
  • 2.
  • Network
  • tab
  • 3.
  • Join Existing netork
  • 4.Enter in the
  • Network ID
  • and
  • Password
  • of the server host
  • 5.Open
  • minecraft
  • 6.Click
  • Multiplayer
  • 7.Click
  • Direct Connect
  • 8.Enter the
  • address
  • given to you by the host (example:
  • 25.180.46.230:64278
  • )

And there you have it!

If you have any questions, please ask me! I'll be glad to sort things out so you can all happily play together!

Don't use Hamachi. It is a security risk and often causes more issues than fixes.

If both players are on the same network, then just use the IPv4 addresses for the computers.

If both are on different, port-forward.

Using Hamachi is a bad idea *unless* you have no option at all of even remotely being able to port-forward, and you will need to know it infringes on IP allocations and is a security risk to your computer.
