How to setup LogBlock?
I'm going to be making a server soon and I want logblock on it. I've tried bukkit on my own PC, but I can't figure out how the MySQL stuff works. I need some kind of server for it? Can that be done on the same server as the one that bukkit is running on?

Yes, the SQL package can be installed on the same machine hosting your minecraft server. There isn't any realistic drawback to having an SQL server on there, and they're not particularly hard to set up. What are you hosting your server on?
Well right now I'm just running Bukkit on my PC to get everything setup before going to a paid host. World, plugin settings, etc.
If you're planning on moving to paid, might be worth just waiting to install logblock once you get the hosting then

While fine for smaller servers, CoreProtect uses flatfile storage for the information. Combining the write methods with the amount of information that would have to be in each file, CoreProtect will begin to slow down your server if you plan on having more players.

I used Hawkeye for a while but the problem with it that it can add up to 200GB+ of data if you don't erase frequently.
Come again? This isn't even close to true unless you would be logging virtually every single minute aspect of the server, and even then it would be a good stretch (especially since these plugins have a decay timer, where data that is x days old can be automatically erased).
For setting up LogBlock or Hawkeye, simply set up an SQL server and then have the server details provided to the plugin. If you have paid hosting, you can most likely submit a ticket to get SQL support.

Well, is there any other way to catch griefers? I don't want griefing, and I want to be able to roll back any griefs.
Stuff like logbook and Hawkeye are EXTREMELY resource intensive. I highly recommend AGAINST using them unless greifing is a real problem.
