How to remove certain sounds from minecraft?

I play mostly pvp servers, but I really despise the hit sound whenever getting into melee combat with another player. I know how to disable it in the volume settings, however I want to hear the other sounds that falls into that category such as the arrow indication whenever you land a shot on another player. Many ways in removing the sound is outdated for years according to many tutorials on youtube. Many sound pack tutorials are also outdated or not clear enough for my understanding.

Can anyone help me in finding a way to remove the sound or creating a soundpack to mask it?

Try creating a resource pack that replaces that sound with something no one can hear.

Soundpacks are basically resourcepacks, but they change sounds ingame instead of the textures. Many tutorials I find are outdated for the version of minecraft that I play which is 1.7.10.

There is some tutorial in Mineworld 5th book, replacing creeper death sound with a burp, but in this case replace hitting sound with silence.

That's literally what Noorullah said, but the resource pack tutorials are outdated.

Create a .zip file in the resourcepacks folder and put silent .ogg sound files (hit1, hit2 and hit3) in it.

\assets\minecraft\sounds\damage
