Hey, I'm Necropool, and I've had a minecraft server for a few days now, posting on websites like a madman, and nobody seems to be joining. I've set up a great server with a buddy of mine. What can I do to get people to come play?

What is your server about? Plugins? Information?
A descriptive information about your server is very useful when posting, showing why your server is different or what it has specifically.

Here's a few things you should have if you want players to join your server. Also remember, players aren't going to join like crazy. Getting a server with even only 10-20 players at peak time takes a long time.
1. Your server need to be unique. People need a reason to play your server over thousands of other ones.
2. You need to setup a way for players to vote. Voting for diamonds is lame (at least in my opinion) I use DonorPoints to allow players to vote for 'Points,' which they can use to buy a Varitey of different things
3. Do some advertising. Don't go around on other people's servers, but make a youtube video about it. Make sure to have a flashy banner for your server, even if it is crude looking like mine . Make a video for it as well.
4. Try to seem professional. Even if you aren't it really helps. Noobs like professional.
5. Don't go crazy getting staff. You shouldn't need more than two staff members in the beginning. I like to stick to one staff member for every 10 or so active players.
