how do you update to 1.6.4? I cant reach ANY of my servers because they updated! please help me! I just need instructions to know how to update to 1.6.4.

well guys I did that and it doesn't say 1.6.4 in that section. anything else I can do?
go to edit profile and click 1.6.2 and scroll up till you se recent updates or whatever click dat
i been having it because of this one reason i deleted minecraft and redownloaded it thinking it would give me 1.6.2 but instead it gave me 1.6.4
Its automatic in my launcher it automaticly updates

Login to minecraft -> Edit Profile -> Find "Use Version" -> Click the drop down menu and select "release 1.6.4"
Let me get this straight, you are saying that mojang completely changed the way the launcher updated and handled its jar files, and you don't think they should take the time to educate their players? and that they should go off and find out from google how to use the launcher? I think this is foolish and a simple tutorial would have been the least they could have done.

Not just new buttons, but they way they are structured. a lot of players get confused and don't know its in edit profile and to scroll up for it.

Oh, when you go on the launcher, in the bottom left hand corner it'll say profiles.
Make a copy of your profile and it should automatically update it self to 1.6.4.

Probably all of them will since there isnt much change in code i believe

2.Click Edit Profile
3.Search for release 1.6.4

I feel Mojang really failed to help players learn to use the new launcher. There should be a video on how to use the setting on the launcher itself. I've answered far too many of these questions, on how to update the launcher to 1.6.4
