Importing MCedit schematics onto an SMP world

Just wondering if anyone could explain the process, none of the videos I found were any help whatsoever.

Backstory - a movie group I'm working with in Minecraft has a project going on where we're building a map. I want to add a world to my server for the construction and testing of the world, but I have no idea what to do past getting the schematic file inside of a single player world.
