She was workign on installing Java 17 to install Iris and a shader pack. After the install, she says trying to open Minecraft is just bringing her to the Microsoft store, and a lot of her games are gone. What could have happened here? She is understandably upset over this, and I'm not sure how to handle this.

This happens on my Windows 10 laptops. I have to go to my library in the windows store app and update Minecraft Launcher from there.

It couldve been a fake version that was a virus
installing java wouldnt do that unless it was a pebkac
