Hello,
I have a question about this problem.
I cannot establish connection over wi-fi.
I have two computers on wi-fi.
Both are running Minecraft java edition 1.18.1 with forge 39.1.2.
On first computer (A) i launch singleplayer game and schoose "share to LAN".
On second computer (B) i choose multiplayer game and see the world created on computer A and when I click on it, i got connection timed out after a while.
I tried to switch to another wi-fi, to turn off firewall, turn off antivirus ..but nothing helped.
I tried versions 1.18.2, 1.16.5, 1.18.1
still no luck to connect it.
On two mobile phones playing Minecraft over LAN is no problem.

Just to double-check, you're on the same wi-fi?
the lan option in java is just broken, only works 5% of the time and the auto find feature just doesnt
Are you trying with two different MC accounts?
yes.
99% lan connection issues have to do with windows firewall. Make sure both PCs are on private connections, add to firewall manually, turn it off on/etc. I know you've tried some of that but keep trying these solutions. Best of luck.
