Hi,
I'm having a little trouble with my minecraft FPS.
I get 70-100 for the first 5 minutes but then after a while it goes to 15-30 FPS.
and 70-100 seems really bad for my CPU because on an old CPU I got like 150 FPS with 8 GB of ram.
My Specs:
Manufacturer: HP
Model: HP Pavillion dv7 Notebook PC
Processor Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz
RAM: 16.0 GB 15.9 Usable
System type: 64-bit
Pen and Touch: No pen or Touch Input is availible for this device.
I've installed optifine (slight FPS boost)
I've tried gamebooster, advanced system care vista services optimization, literally everything D:
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 2gb.

How many cores does your CPU have, I bought a gaming computer and it played extremely well for a short time the just opening minecraft used up my CPU 99%, I checked my system and it was telling me I had a 4 gb card, I only paid for 1gb, so I thought it was bottlenecking, hoping to get it replaced soon
I have 7 or 8, I checked in task manager but I think it's 7.
Is your pc multicore? I think (correct me if I'm wrong) Minecraft only uses a single core by standard. There is an Optifine version especially for Multicore PCs, try that maybe.
EDIT: Googled "Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU", it's quadcore. Should be worth a try!

Ok, I tried that and it was like BOOM 375 FPS... Then 5 seconds later it's down to 15-30 again D:
Find the nvidia control panel and add javaw to the (3D settings-> Program settings) list. Then select High Performance NVIDIA processor.
Assuming you have the same setup (I have an integrated card to handle the smaller tasks, and the dedicated nvidia card to handle gaming) It'll probably work; If it doesn't, I'll do some more research.

I've had it at high performance already, I set it for high perfomance on minecraft and javaw.exe.

It increased by about 15 with the game booster Thanks, When I got the wise game booster it was like OMG man it was 300 FPS but then it went down to 20 again. Ok now I look again and it's 13!!! D:
I think something is making my FPS lower after like 5 seconds...
Hey alecdent, BTW when I see the javaw.exe in the nvidia settings it doesn't say just 'javaw.exe', it says 'c:windows\system32\javaw.exe'

Woah... All of a sudden my MC is at 150-300 FPS and it's staying! My CPU randomly turned off, prob because it overheated. If it drops again I will let you know, if anyones know how to make minecraft even faster that would be nice Thanks,

Ok.... Uhh somethin just happened, the post deleted this one, so I had to go to history to come here... I posted 2 of these by accident so some admin must've deleted the other one BTW my MC is runnin faster right now dunno why its at 150-300, if I come up lagging again I will post Thanks,
