Recently, my minecraft launcher (Not the game) has been crashing for some unknown reason. What happens is if I'm on the launcher part of minecraft for too long, it crashes and says, "Java(TM) Launcher SE Binary has stopped working," even though it said the new launcher did not use java. Usually I can bypass it by clicking play game quickly, but recently I've been trying to download a 1.9 snapshot and I can't complete it without it crashing.
Does anybody know why it's doing that?

Ok, I found a temporary solution. I used the java launcher to install MC 1.9, but I couldn't play it on the launcher. So I reinstalled the non-java version and it apparently was installed.
I though MC installed Java on it's own. In it's own little directory...

Turn on VBOs setting
It isn't an in-game problem, rather it's a problem with the launcher. I tried anyways and it did nothing.
Have you tried updating to the latest version of Java? I would give that a shot first and foremost. Secondly, check that your graphics drivers are not in need of an update, and thirdly, check Windows Update (assuming you're on Windows) for any updates that did not automatically install.
Lastly, I would try uninstalling Minecraft and reinstalling altogether. Make sure to save any folders you may have such as 'saves', 'resourcepacks', 'mods' and of course the file in the main folder called 'servers.dat' as this contains the list of the servers you play on.
Let us know if you need any further assistance, please!

I did all the steps you told me to. I uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft, but I didn't work and now I cannot start minecraft at all because I cannot download it. Any other suggestions? Edit: I found out that it saved my stuff and I can still play 1.8 but not 1.9 (It just got released).
