Launcher problems

1) i have a problem with my launcher (vanilla),
i start minecraft 1.6.4, but...it wont load the profiles and so i can't play minecraft
2) when i start the tekkit launcher, there are no modpacks in it, and when i try to add modpacks, it wont accept it! then i looked in my folders, and there are no folders in the map
i need help!
