Does it do this with an unmodded .jar, too? I'm running OptiFine too, but I had quite a bit of trouble getting it all running stably.
Here's something that might be worth trying:
(you will probably need to then install OptiFine again)
Disclaimer here is that I haven't tried this with the new launcher yet, so I'm a bit fuzzy on the details. Used to help a lot a year or two ago, though! Make sure you make that folder copy, just in case! You can always rename it back to .minecraft if something goes wrong, then.
Here's something that might be worth trying:
- - Open the Windows Explorer, the one you use for browsing your files
- - At the top where it shows you where you're at, enter: %appdata%
- - Make a copy of the .minecraft folder.
- - Empty out the original. You can try emptying out /versions/ and then /libraries/ inside, first.
- - With a bit of luck, it should download clean versions of everything again on next launch.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Please? ;n;
I've had this problem, what I did (I use a linux computer) was go on to the terminal and type java -jar Minecraft.jar don't know if it will work for Windows though
No it just closes the launcher like it would when it works, I expect it to open minecraft but it doesn't, sorry. :c
Does it give you a log? If so, copy/paste it into a spoiler so we can look at it. Thanks!
