Lighting Update Problems
I need help with a lighting error on my world. I'm making a JurassiCraft-compatible world, and a couple buildings don't update their lighting properly if I leave their chunks and come back. Normally, the skylights on the roof let natural light through, but if I leave and come back, everything under the skylight is completely dark. I can place down blocks and restore the natural lighting, but it always goes dark again if I leave. What causes this, and is there any way to fix it?

Seen this before. I always have to place torches down, but it's not always good.
I've had this problem myself. Don't really know how to fix it. I just do whatever you're doing right now.
It's kinda funny, actually...a lot of times, it happened in one of the Jurassic Park maps you made. No offense to your builds, or anything...they just seemed to occur more often there. They don't cause too much trouble though.

There are quite alot of Lighting errors in minecraft, not sure what causes them to appear, but if you leave that chunk alone, it just happens sometimes. I'm not sure if there are any ways to fix it, but there are temporary ways to fix them at least. You can try to use a button attached to a redstone lamp to update that chunk. Instead of putting new blocks there and all that jazz, you can try to use redstone to make it automatic, but that will leave the lights flickering on and off.
