Before I begin on the official issue I am going to say I have tried Mojang Support and it is just too much of a convoluted mess to be any help to me in the scenario I am in.
I am pretty much locked out from positively using Minecraft. I cannot change my skins, I "cannot connect to the internet" (even though I look at my internet and I am
connected), I cannot report bugs [through the bug tracker], and I cannot get Bedrock Edition (for the free-thing with owning Java Edition already).
Every time I log into the new (7 Month Old) Minecraft Launcher I get this message:
"You are not signed into the Microsoft Store with the account you are currently using in the Launcher"
There is a problem again... Any time I try to log into the Microsoft Store with my Microsoft Account it tells me I cannot use a personal account and that I must use
a Work/School account. Problem is: my Microsoft Account (connected to my Minecraft Launcher) just is not a Work/School account; it is a personal account and it
is already connected to my Xbox Account. I don't understand what I am supposed to do about it. If my Microsoft Account could connect to my Xbox Account all that time ago why not my Minecraft Account; when I have already Migrated (for Months)?!
I am really wanting to grab Bedrock Edition right now (let alone change/just look at my skins and officially connect the MC Launcher to the Internet), but everything
is just lining up to not be in my favor. I cannot play Minecraft as of this time period because of this, 7 months ago I just decided I would wait as I thought all these issues were from the Launcher being new, but: no the "new" Launcher still sucks.

The interesting thing to note here is the fact that its tieing your microsoft account for Minecrft to the Microsoft account needed for the Microsoft store.
The store is part of Windows 10 (or later) and is not minecraft related.
It is highly possible that the key used to activate your current Windows operating system was done using a student version - i.e. You get to purchase a Windows key at a reduced price if you are a student.
If you do this, Windows will tie everything to student related accounts, thus you will be unlikely to log into the Microsoft store with anything except an account that relates to a college or university, or other learning establishment.
In short, this may have nothing to do with minecraft. It may just be to do with the way you obtained your current Windows operating system key for activation.

Mojang's support team are the only people who can help with account-specific issues as they have access to everyone's accounts.
